About the Artist

I grew up in Ridgeland, a tiny town nestled between Rice Lake and Menomonie, in the northern woods of Wisconsin. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science and graduated from UW River Falls in 2022. I have additional minors in animal science and biology, and currently work as a clinical laboratory technologist. My love and appreciation for nature and biology pours from my paintings through the wild scenery but especially the flowers. When I paint these familiar botanicals and scenes I learn about myself in a way- because I let go of my conscious self when I pick up the brush. I pick colors as I go, and I use leaf/petal shapes based merely on what feels right in that moment. I let the bristles dance across the page, with the only boundaries being the edges of the paper. Here I can trust my own judgment, I can tune out the rest of the world, and I can even make mistakes! When I decide the piece is complete and step back, I find fragments of myself staring back at me.

Thriving, and vibing! As a self fulfilling hobby that has morphed into a second career, painting is essential to my every day shenanigans. My work is currently on display with Wings Over Alma, a nature and art visitor’s center in Alma, Wi. I will be at the Spring Fling craft fair in March, which is also in Alma. I will also have a month long exhibit in July with a reception event date TBD. This will be at Elmaro Winery in Trempealeau, Wi.
